John’s invitation to the recent wedding of Kate Middleton to Prince William caused great excitement amongst press and customers alike. In the weeks leading up to the wedding The Boot experienced a frenzy of activity, with visits from press and media from around the world. John and his partner were even included in a Royal Wedding edition of the Top Trumps card game!
The day of the wedding proved to be very special for John and for the whole of the village of Stanford Dingley, with a party to celebrate the wedding being held at The Boot in the evening.
The party, which was invite only, was attended by over three hundred locals including a number of villagers who had attended the wedding service in Westminster Abbey. The guests were treated to a barbeque and live music in the garden followed by a disco inside. The party provided a wonderful climax to a very special day and festivities continued into the early hours.
All proceeds went to a local charity, the John Simmonds trust.
